Refine Together: one shared prototype, improved as a team

Refine Together is the AppSprint step where a team improves one shared prototype with AI. Only the decision-maker can prompt the AI builder. Teammates follow the same view, send anonymous written suggestions, and can take part in an optional advisory vote on them. The decision-maker applies the changes worth making, and everyone sees each new version. Team Vibe Coding uses the same activity under the name Build together.

Why one person prompts

When several people prompt an AI builder at once, the prototype gets pulled in different directions. Refine Together gives the keyboard to one person, the decision-maker, and gives everyone else a structured way to be heard. Suggestions carry no names, so quiet teammates get the same channel as loud ones.

How it works

  1. Start from the chosen prototypes

After the gallery vote, the decision-maker keeps 1 to 3 prototypes. Each one gets its own tab with its own chat, suggestions and versions. In Team Vibe Coding there is no gallery, and the shared builder starts blank.

  2. Teammates look and suggest

Teammates follow the decision-maker's view or choose "Explore on your own" to click through the prototype. Each person can send up to 10 suggestions of up to 600 characters, with an optional snapshot of the region they mean.

  3. Optional advisory vote

The decision-maker can run a vote on the suggestions. It is advisory.

  4. The decision-maker applies changes

The decision-maker presses "Apply change" on a suggestion or writes a prompt of their own. The AI makes a targeted edit and the room sees the new version.

  5. Restore if a change goes wrong

The 20 most recent versions of each tab are kept, and the decision-maker can restore any of them.

What is and is not automatic

  • Suggestions are not summarised or merged by AI. The decision-maker reads them as written.
  • Nothing is applied automatically. A suggestion changes the prototype only when the decision-maker applies it.
  • For games, the decision-maker's canvas streams to teammates so everyone watches the same play.
  • AI teammates do not take part in building.

Limits worth knowing

The room shows status text while the AI works and then the finished result. There is no live stream of code. The prototype stays a single HTML file with no backend. See build prototypes with AI. The host's credits pay for AI usage. See pricing.

Which templates include it

Refine Together runs for 10 minutes in the One-Hour Sprint and 45 minutes in the Full Product Sprint, and it is also a step in the Focused Product Sprint. In Team Vibe Coding it is the main 45-minute step, called Build together.

Questions and answers

Is there a tool where a team can build a prototype together with AI?

Yes. In AppSprint, Refine Together puts the whole team on one AI-built prototype. The decision-maker prompts the AI, teammates send anonymous suggestions and can vote on them, and everyone sees each new version.

Can every teammate prompt the AI in Refine Together?

No. Only the decision-maker can prompt the shared builder, with the host as fallback. Teammates contribute through written suggestions, up to 10 each.

Are teammates' suggestions really anonymous?

They are anonymous in the interface: the room does not show who wrote a suggestion. AppSprint stores author ids on its servers, so this is not cryptographic anonymity.
