User testing with feedback forms

In AppSprint's Full and Focused Product Sprints, the team ends by testing its prototype with real users. Each prototype gets a public feedback form that testers open without an account. The team edits the questions, writes one invitation email and sends it from its own mail, then reads anonymous responses on a live dashboard. AppSprint does not recruit testers, send the invitations or analyse the answers with AI.

How it works

  1. Create the feedback form

Each prototype has its own form. It starts with default questions, and the team can edit it: up to 20 questions of three types, short answer, paragraph and multiple choice.

  2. Invite testers

The team co-edits one invitation email, and the form links are appended automatically. AppSprint does not send it. You copy the text or open it in your own mail app. A contact table of up to 200 rows exports as CSV.

  3. Testers try the prototype

The tester page is public and needs no account. It shows a title, "Plan for about 5 minutes", a button that opens the prototype in a new tab, the questions and a Submit button. The prototype is not embedded in the form.

  4. Review feedback

The dashboard updates live. It shows the response count, the percentage who answered "Very disappointed", a breakdown per question, each individual response, and a filter by prototype.

  5. Turn answers into action items

Any answer can become an action item, and the action items export as CSV.

The default questions

  • "How disappointed would you be if you could no longer use this product?" (required)
  • "Who are you, and when would this product be most useful to you?" (required)
  • A follow-up on what the tester would most like improved, shown depending on an earlier answer
  • A 1 to 5 rating of the experience, and a question on ease of use
  • "What worked well?" and "What could be improved?"

What is anonymous and what is not automatic

  • The form collects no tester name or email. Responses show as "Anonymous tester".
  • The default questions and the invitation email are fixed templates, not AI-written. The team edits them by hand.
  • The results use no AI analysis. You read the numbers and the answers yourselves.
  • The dashboard carries an explicit disclaimer that the results do not establish product-market fit.

Limits worth knowing

  • No tester recruiting. You bring your own customers, users or contacts.
  • Testers do not place heat-map dots. Those belong to the team's own Prototype Review.
  • Up to 500 responses are kept per room.
  • Responses do not export as CSV. Tester contacts and action items do.
  • The prototype under test is a single HTML file with no backend.

Which templates include it

User testing is the last phase of the Full Product Sprint and the Focused Product Sprint: Create Feedback Form, Invite Testers and Review Feedback. The One-Hour Sprint and Team Vibe Coding have no testing steps.

Questions and answers

Can I test an AI-built prototype with real users in AppSprint?

Yes, in the Full and Focused Product Sprints. Each prototype gets a public feedback form. Testers need no account: they open the prototype in a new tab, try it, and answer the questions. The team sees responses on a live dashboard.

Does AppSprint find testers for us?

No. AppSprint does not recruit testers and does not send the invitation. The team writes the email in the room and sends it from its own mail. See how to test a prototype with users.

Does the feedback tell us whether we have product-market fit?

No. The dashboard shows the share of testers who would be "Very disappointed" to lose the product, along with the other answers, and it states that these results do not establish product-market fit. Use them to decide what to change or test next.
