Where v0 is the better choice
- You need real code. AppSprint prototypes are single-file HTML with no backend, no real APIs and no frameworks, so they are a reference for a build, not the start of a codebase
- You want the result live on the web as a deployed app. AppSprint prototypes are shared as downloads and links for review and testing, not hosted as products
- You are working on your own, or you already know what to build. A sprint is for a group choosing a direction, and it adds little when the direction is settled
- You are building over weeks. An AppSprint room is a time-boxed workshop with no integrations or GitHub export
Where AppSprint is the better choice
- Several people need a say in what gets built. The guided steps go from naming the problem to a decision the decision-maker confirms
- You want to compare directions side by side. Each person builds their own version, and the prototype review hides who built what while the team marks what it likes
- You want input that is not swayed by seniority. Ideas are anonymous and votes are private by default
- You want one shared prototype with one person at the controls. In Refine Together only the decision-maker prompts the AI, and teammates send anonymous written suggestions
- Non-technical teammates and clients are taking part. They join from a link without an account, and the video call is in the room
- You want tester reactions before anyone writes production code. The Full and Focused sprints include feedback forms
Using both
The two cover different stages: decide in AppSprint, then build in v0. The Focused and Full Product Sprint include a step where the host generates a build brief (PRD) and a handoff package: an AI build prompt, the sprint's decisions, the prototype's HTML and screenshots, written to be given to ChatGPT, Claude or another development tool.
